Event report: DryFiciency at European Sustainable Energy Week 2018

4 - 7 June 2018

The European Sustainable Energy Week 2018 took place in Brussels on 4-7 June 2018. The European Heat Pump Association (co-organising communication activities about DryFiciency project) participated or co-organized several activities. DryFiciency was present in all EHPA activities. Please see below a short summary of all activities: Ice Cream Activity: On Wednesday 6 June 2018,  EHPA was invited to repeat its yearly activity and offer ice cream to the participants of EUSEW 2018 at the Residence Palace. All ice cream flavours were colour-coded and presented a number benefits of using heat pumps.  The aim of this activity was to raise awareness of the main benefits that can be achieved thanks to heat pumps and will result to:
    • Green House Gas Emission Reductions
 
    • Energy Efficiency
 
    • Renewable Energy
 
    • Local jobs
 
    • Energy Security
 
    Smart Grids
The project of DryFiciency was present as well and the team distributed flyers and informed the gathered audience about the project, the consortium and its deliverables.     DryFiciency roll up at EUSEW 2018                               Ice Cream activity at EUSEW18 Decarb Heat Session On Thursday 7 June 2018, the event “Heating & Cooling in Europe – How can we decarbonise the sector by 2050 and fulfil the Paris Agreement?” took place in the framework of the EUSEW. Representatives from DG Energy, EU Commission (Mechthild Wörsdörfer, Director Renewables, Research & Innovation, Energy efficiency), the Austrian Permanent Representation (Michael Steurer, Energy attaché) and Radboud University Nijmegen (Florian Knobloch, Expert) as well as representatives of the Decarb Heat Initiative (AEBIOMCOGEN Europe, EHPAEuroheat & PowerEPEEEGECSolar Heat Europe/ESTIF) addressed the political framework of the decarbonisation of heating & cooling (H&C) and provided industry insights to advance towards a fully decarbonised sector by 2050.
