Together with leading expert speakers from policy, energy integration, manufacturing and end users, this interactive conference will showcase the results achieved and the potential of the available solutions, demonstrating how high temperature heat pumps can help making the industry and its energy supply more robust for reaching climate neutrality by 2050.

This demonstration seminar highlighted the exiting interim results of the DryFiciency flagship project in three demonstration sites at AGRANA, Wienerberger  and Scanship. DryFiciency focuses on high temperature heat pumps (HTHP) that are able to supply process heat up to 160oC. Three demonstrations in industrial drying are being advanced as the drying processes are very energy intensive and offer huge potential for energy efficiency and therefore to the utilisation of HPs in industrialisation. The latest results from the commissioning and demonstration were presented validating the potential of high temperature heat pump technology for industrial applications.

The first of many seminars that are dealing with the exiting results of the DryFiciency project Veronika Wilk of the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT), showcased the flagship project DryFiciency from lab to reality. DryFiciency focuses on high temperature heat pumps that are able to supply process heat up to 160oC. Three demonstrations in industrial drying are being advanced as the drying processes are very energy intensive and offer huge potential for energy efficiency and therefore to the utilisation of HPs in industrialisation. A number of activities have been underway from component and prototype design to commissioning and demonstration.

The DryFiciency Partners AIT, Fuchs, Chemours, Bitzer, Rotrex and Heaten shared the development and adaption of technologies for upgrading idle waste heat streams to process heat streams at temperature levels of up to 160°C.

DryFiciency joined forces with REWARDHeat, ReUseHeat and R-ACES in a discussion on the opportunities to realising the potential of waste heat, and how they can be leveraged using the latest technological solutions. View all presentations here.

The online seminars highlighted the remarkable versatility of the industrial high temperature heat pumps in various industrial processes.

The objective of the online seminar was to provide an overview of the technological advances in components developed and adapted in the DryFiciency open loop and closed loop heat pump systems.

The purpose of this online seminar is to highlight the contribution of large and industrial heat pumps to Europe’s industrial strategy, specifically to the decarbonization of Europe’s manufacturing sector.
